Purchasing - Materials Buyer

Midway Windows & Doors, privately held and family owned for almost 60 years, is based in Bedford Park, Illinois. Midway is a vinyl window and door manufacturer offering an opportunity to join our company as a Materials Buyer in our Purchasing Department. Required Skills & Experience: · One year experience in prior materials role, preferably as buyer · Microsoft Suite proficient Preferred Skills: · Fenestration industry / Window experience Position : Non-Exempt Roles & Responsibilities : The Materials Buyer reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for supporting daily production through successful execution of purchasing duties assigned. Responsibilities are as follows: · Support strategy set forth by Supply Chain Manager · Monitor order to manage on time delivery of purchased materials · Maintain reports needed for purchasing on a regular basis · Assist in identification and resolution of issues associated with purchasing of materials · Daily communication with suppliers · Communicate material shortages or vendor delivery issues for production planning · Excellent communication skills required, detail oriented · Must work well with others and embody a team player mentality · Other projects and support to others, upon request Pay: From $23.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Paid parental leave Paid time off Parental leave Retirement plan Vision insurance Work Location: In person
