PURCHASING MANAGER - STRUCTURAL STEEL πŸ’° $130K–$160K πŸ“ Pennsylvania What if your next purchasing role was the one that put you on the path to leading the function? An established steel fabrication and construction business in Pennsylvania is looking for a Purchasing Manager to join during an important period of growth. This isn't simply about buying material. The business is growing across structural steel, advanced bridge fabrication and heavy industrial projects , and they need someone who can help strengthen the way purchasing, suppliers and material flow support the operation. πŸ”₯ WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT You won't be walking into a purchasing function with everything already set in stone. You'll have the opportunity to learn the business, build supplier relationships, improve processes and gradually take on greater responsibility. With the existing purchasing leader expected to retire in the coming years, there is a genuine succession opportunity for the right person to develop into broader purchasing leadership. That means your impact can extend far beyond today's purchase orders. πŸ—οΈ WHAT YOU'LL BE INVOLVED IN You'll work across the operation, connecting purchasing with: β€’ Structural steel & plate requirements β€’ Fabrication and project schedules β€’ Steel mills & service centres β€’ Supplier negotiations β€’ Material availability & long-lead items β€’ Freight and delivery coordination β€’ Inventory & material management β€’ Project and production teams The ideal candidate understands that in steel fabrication, getting the right material at the right price is only half the job β€” getting it there at the right time can make or break a project. πŸš€ WHERE YOU CAN TAKE IT This is an opportunity for someone who wants more ownership, more influence and a genuine route into broader leadership. You'll be joining a business where purchasing has a direct impact on: Project margins. Production continuity. Delivery performance. Future growth. Experience with structural steel, bridge fabrication or heavy industrial procurement will be highly relevant. ERP / purchasing system experience such as Tekla EPM, Spectrum or similar is also valuable. If you're currently a Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer or Procurement professional within steel fabrication, bridges or heavy industry and you're ready for a role with a bigger runway, I'd be interested in speaking with you. Confidential conversations available.
