Job Description Job Title: Purchasing Manager FLSA Status (Exempt or Non-Exempt): Exempt Division & Department: GBS, Printech Reports To: Vice President of Operations POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for sourcing and procuring vendor-supplied products and services, for GBS Printech production facilities. Oversees the ordering and expediting of substrates for Printech production facilities, purchasing initiatives, inventory management, supplier relationships, cost reduction efforts, and procurement process improvements. In depth material/substrate analysis for project while working with Sales. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships. Manage supplier confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements. Source and procure all laminate raw materials, non-production materials, office supplies, and services for Printech production facilities. Review and verify invoices for accuracy by matching receivers and purchase orders, coding to appropriate general ledger accounts, and forwarding invoices for timely payment. Control inventory levels to minimize machine downtime while reducing carrying costs. Manage non-production supply inventories through improved inventory control practices. Develop procurement strategies that improve inventory turns and reduce obsolete inventory. Reduce plant costs through supplier negotiations, approved product substitutions, and alternate sourcing strategies. Evaluate supplier performance through regular performance reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and supplier audits, as needed. Maintain purchasing records in accordance with legal, corporate, customer, and regulatory requirements. Expedite material deliveries to support production schedules. Prepare month-end purchasing expense and inventory reports for Printech production facilities. Maintain spreadsheets and reporting related to material expediting, procurement activities, and documented cost savings. Administer the Nonconforming Material Report (NCR) process to identify root causes and recover applicable supplier costs. Coordinate tooling, quality control, and repair-related purchasing activities. Manage customer regulatory and compliance requirements related to purchased materials. Maintain compliance with ISO standards, documented procedures, and work instructions. Support the Business System Objectives and Quality Mission Statement. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements) High school diploma or GED required; additional education in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the label industry involving materials management or five (5) years of purchasing or procurement experience. Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier sourcing, production applications, product lead times, pricing structures, and cost analysis. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Experience using spreadsheets, databases, and purchasing or ERP systems. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong negotiation skills and experience with competitive bidding processes. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities. Effective verbal, written, interpersonal, and listening communication skills. Ability to analyze information, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement practical solutions. Working knowledge of inventory management principles, purchasing best practices, and vendor management. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
