We need someone to bring it together: one process, better prices and clear controls. What you’ll do Map what we buy today, from whom and through whom, and find where we’re overpaying. Design and roll out a company-wide purchasing process: requisitions, purchase orders, approval limits and receiving, tied to Sage 300 CRE. Put controls in place so field purchases go through approved suppliers and limits, with a fast path for genuine emergencies. Negotiate pricing, terms and rebates with key suppliers: electrical distributors, signal equipment manufacturers and reps, and pole and steel suppliers. Pool orders across jobs to win volume pricing, and agree stock levels with the warehouse. Buy materials for projects from estimates and schedules, and expedite long-lead items. Track supplier diversity (MWBE) spend for public-contract compliance. Report monthly on spend, savings and compliance with the process. What you need At least 7 years in purchasing or procurement, including at least 3 leading the function or a major spend category, with real experience negotiating supplier pricing and terms. Experience building or tightening a purchasing process (PO workflow, approval limits, approved suppliers). Strong Excel and comfort working in an accounting or ERP system. The confidence to say no to field staff and the judgment to know when to say yes. Nice to have Electrical materials knowledge from a distributor or electrical contractor. Construction procurement experience, including public-sector projects. CPSM or similar certification. Sage 300 CRE experience. What we offer Base salary $120,000–$145,000 depending on experience, plus a bonus tied to documented savings. Medical, dental and vision insurance; 401(k) plan; paid time off.
