Purchasing Manager

Mobile TV Group (MTVG) is an industry-leading provider of live production solutions, responsible for facilitating over 4,000 live events a year for regional sports networks, national broadcasters, and major entertainment clients. Our systems integration and manufacturing division, Colorado Studios, designs and builds state-of-the-art, customized mobile live TV production trailers (OB trucks) out of our 35,000-square-foot facility in Englewood, Colorado. Position Summary: We are seeking a highly strategic and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement, supply chain, and vendor management operations for Mobile TV Group and Colorado Studios. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing high-end broadcast electronics (such as routing systems, broadcast cameras, fiber networks, and replay servers), customized vehicle chassis, and the manufacturing materials required for building and maintaining our advanced fleet of mobile units. The ideal candidate has a strong background in technical procurement, exceptional negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the logistics involved in custom manufacturing and high-end systems integration. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Lead the full purchasing lifecycle for all broadcast electronics (e.g., Grass Valley, Sony, Evertz, EVS, Fujinon), IT/network infrastructure, AV gear, and structural materials needed by Mobile TV Group and Colorado Studios. Vendor Management & Negotiation: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key OEM partners and distributors. Negotiate pricing, bulk-buy discounts, and warranties, to maximize ROI without compromising quality. Supply Chain & Logistics: Oversee inventory levels for our Englewood facility and our nationwide fleet. Ensure the timely delivery of mission-critical components to keep custom OB truck builds, fleet upgrades, and maintenance schedules strictly on track. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with the engineering, systems integration, and fleet management teams to accurately forecast hardware needs, vet new technologies, and ensure all procured equipment meets the rigorous physical demands of a mobile production environment. Qualifications: Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management. Experience with Great Plains Accounting System is a plus. Industry Knowledge: Previous experience procuring professional broadcast technology, AV systems, or enterprise IT infrastructure is preferred. Familiarity with hardware manufacturing, auto manufacturing, or systems integration is a major plus. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). Core Skills: Negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing cost savings and favorable terms. Ability to read, interpret, and negotiate complex technical contracts. Strong financial acumen, including budget forecasting and variance analysis. Proficiency in modern ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and inventory management software. Working Conditions: This position is based at our headquarters and manufacturing facility in Englewood, Colorado. Standard office environment with frequent engagement on an active, fast-paced integration and manufacturing floor.
