Job Summary We are seeking a high-energy, strategic, and results-driven Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement operations and lead our team of buyers. Serving as the primary voice and representative of the purchasing department, you will establish strategic vendor partnerships to secure the best marine components at the best prices with on time delivery. The ideal candidate operates with a deep level of urgency and excels at proactive inventory monitoring to guarantee that our production lines experience zero material shortages. In this specialized role, you will work closely with our industry buying group to maximize volume leverage and collaborate directly with our Product Development team to source cutting-edge components for next-generation marine builds. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Interdepartmental Collaboration Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of buyers, fostering a culture of urgency, accountability, and continuous improvement. Partner with Product Development during early-stage design phases to source innovative, reliable components and ensure smooth transitions from prototyping to full production. Serve as the primary voice and representative for the purchasing department across the company, aligning procurement strategies with engineering, production, and finance. Marine Sourcing & Buying Group Leverage Collaborate closely with our industry buying group to maximize vendor programs, track rebates, and leverage collective purchasing power for optimal pricing. Work alongside our Supplier Management Team to research, evaluate, and vet top-tier marine suppliers to build a vendor network capable of meeting strict quality standards. Lead contract and price negotiations to secure favorable terms, manage raw material price fluctuations, and enhance supply chain efficiency. Material Availability, Inventory Strategy & Urgency Closely monitor and analyze inventory stock levels to align with build schedules and sales forecasts. Act with a strong sense of urgency to expedite critical components, track long-lead-time items, and resolve logistical bottlenecks immediately. Maintain a vigilant, forward-looking stance on global supply chain constraints to eliminate production material shortages entirely. Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Marine Operations, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably within the marine industry, with at least 2–3 years leading a team. Technical Skills: Proficiency with MRP systems and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for materials tracking. Urgency & Environment: Demonstrated ability to make fast, strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment with shifting production timelines.
