PURCHASING MANAGER
FaztekAs Purchasing Manager, you’ll make sure NIA and Faztek have the materials, equipment, and services they need to keep production moving. You’ll own our supplier relationships, lead the commercial negotiations, and build a purchasing team and process that run smoothly across both companies. This role suits someone who enjoys balancing three things at once: keeping material available, keeping costs competitive, and holding suppliers to a high standard. You’ll have real influence here, including the chance to combine the buying power of two businesses and shape how purchasing works for years to come. What you’ll do Lead purchasing across two companies Run day-to-day purchasing for NIA and Faztek, setting priorities and making sure POs go out accurately and on time. Build standardized processes, approval workflows, and controls that work across both businesses. Keep an eye on open orders and step in when deliveries are late, incomplete, or incorrect. Build strong supplier partnerships Serve as the main commercial contact for our key and high-value suppliers. Set clear performance expectations and track quality, delivery, responsiveness, and service. Hold periodic reviews with critical vendors and work through recurring issues together. Reduce supply risk by spotting single-source materials and developing backup suppliers. Negotiate and drive savings Negotiate pricing, payment and freight terms, lead times, and volume agreements. Look at total cost, not just unit price, when comparing quotes. Find ways to leverage combined volume and consolidate suppliers where it makes sense. Lead annual cost-reduction initiatives that save money without sacrificing quality or reliability. Partner closely with Inventory Control and Operations Work hand in hand with our Inventory Control Manager: they define what we need, and you make sure we get it at the right time and cost. Turn reorder points, min/max levels, MRP output, and forecasts into well-timed purchases. Flag supplier changes (lead times, MOQs, allocations, price increases) early, and raise the alarm right away when a stockout or production disruption is possible. Help reduce excess and obsolete inventory by adjusting or canceling open orders. Support Maintenance, Engineering, and new-project work by sourcing equipment, spare parts, contractors, and services. Improve our systems and reporting Keep supplier data, pricing, lead times, and terms accurate in our ERP. Build reporting on supplier performance, open POs, pricing trends, and supply risk. Find opportunities to streamline and automate purchasing work. Develop the team Lead, coach, and grow the purchasing team supporting both companies. Assign clear category and supplier ownership, and cross-train so no critical knowledge lives with just one person. Build a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement. What you’ll bring 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply-chain experience in manufacturing Experience leading or supervising others A track record of negotiating pricing, terms, and lead times with suppliers Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Clear communication and the ability to work well with Production, Finance, Quality, Maintenance, and leadership Comfort juggling priorities across two businesses Nice to have 7+ years in manufacturing purchasing or supply chain Experience managing a purchasing team or supporting multiple sites or business units Familiarity with aluminum, metals, chemicals, fabricated components, industrial equipment, or manufacturing consumables Measurable results in cost reduction and supplier development Experience building purchasing KPIs, supplier scorecards, or improving processes in an ERP environment
