Purchasing Manager

C&C Wholesale Distributors is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our Dallas, TX team. Our ideal candidate has experience in purchasing with some knowledge of the flooring industry. We are looking for someone who is detailed oriented, a fast learner, problem solver, and has great communication skills. C&C Wholesale CORE VALUES Embrace and drive change Put your heart into it and STAY committed Create connections with customers and each other Communicate with respect and patience Do what is RIGHT even when it's hard Keep it FUN Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management Monitor inventory levels and turn rates to guide purchasing decisions Help maintain accurate item records — pricing, stock minimums, packaging details — and phase out obsolete items Support day-to-day inventory processes like receiving, transfers, and shipping Identify slow-moving inventory and recommend solutions, including transfers between branches Help maintain sufficient levels of inventory on hand across locations Purchasing Place purchase orders with vendors to keep inventory turning and avoid stockouts Coordinate drop/direct shipments from vendors to customers Manage truckload shipping with select vendors and choose freight providers Review daily branch order requests and communicate decisions back to requestors Build strong vendor relationships to secure favorable pricing and service Track missed sales and backorders to inform purchasing decisions Work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies Operations Support Coordinate with warehouse teams on deliveries and pickups Maintain accurate records throughout the purchasing process (POs, confirmations, shipping documents, etc.) Coordinate vendor returns with Branch Managers to ensure proper credit Resolve shipping shortages and see issues through to resolution Ideal Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent experience 2+ years of experience in a Purchasing role Experience in the floor covering industry with some product knowledge strongly preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills Fast-learner and problem solver with high attention to detail Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment Bilingual preferred (Spanish)
