We're looking for a Purchasing Manager to lead our sourcing strategy and Purchasing team, ensuring the materials that keep our production lines running are secured on time, at the right cost, and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Lead, develop, and evaluate the performance of Purchasing department staff. Research, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers based on price, quality, service, reliability, and capabilities. Anticipate supply chain risks and build contingency plans to protect material availability and production. Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to avoid stockouts or excess inventory. Analyze market conditions, material costs, and supplier performance to inform sourcing decisions. Develop and implement purchasing policies, procedures, and contract management practices. Ensure compliance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements, including those for chemical raw materials and packaging. Maintain accurate material cost data in the ERP system and report on significant material cost trends. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. 5+ years' experience in a purchasing role, including 2+ years of leadership experience, required. Purchasing experience with chemicals and packaging preferred. APICS, ISM, or NAPM certifications a plus. POSITION DETAILS Location: Cortec Corporate Headquarters, White Bear Lake, Minnesota. This is an on-site role, with a general expectation of working in the office five days per week to support collaboration, leadership visibility, and cross-functional alignment. Travel: Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support business needs. Occasional travel anticipated up to approximately 15%. Schedule: Standard business hours with flexibility to support business, customer, and team needs. Classification: Exempt; supervises the Purchasing team. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The anticipated starting salary range for this position is $100,000–$120,000 annually . This range represents Cortec’s good-faith estimate of the compensation available for this position at the time of posting. It is not typical for an individual to be hired or placed near either the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range. Actual starting pay will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. This position may also be eligible for annual incentive or bonus compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
