Purchasing Manager

We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead procurement activities for a fast-paced distribution environment. This role is responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods to support business operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of procurement experience , strong analytical skills, and experience working within a distribution, warehousing, or supply chain environment. Key Responsibilities Manage the procurement and replenishment of inventory to meet operational and customer demands. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate pricing, contracts, terms, and service agreements to achieve cost savings and operational efficiencies. Monitor inventory levels and purchasing trends to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory. Collaborate with warehouse, operations, sales, and finance teams to forecast purchasing requirements. Evaluate supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and service metrics. Source and qualify new suppliers to improve supply chain resilience and competitiveness. Analyze procurement data and prepare reports on purchasing activity, spend, and supplier performance. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and procurement best practices. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing function. Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience . Experience within a distribution, wholesale, logistics, or warehousing environment is strongly preferred. Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field. Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. CPIM, SCMP, PMAC, or related supply chain designation is considered an asset.
