Purchasing & Logistics Specialist

Agility Technical Solutions, LLC seeks an experienced Purchasing & Logistics Specialist to coordinate procurement, supplier pricing, receiving, inventory and production kitting for printed circuit board assembly operations. The employee will also prepare material cost estimates for customer quotations. This hands-on position requires knowledge of electronic components, bare printed circuit boards and the materials needed to support SMT and through-hole production. Primary Responsibilities Review customer bills of materials, assembly drawings and purchasing specifications to identify material requirements. Request and compare supplier quotes for electronic components, bare PCBs and outside manufacturing services; prepare material cost estimates for customer RFQs. Support complete PCB assembly estimates by compiling material pricing, lead times and purchasing assumptions for review by technical and sales personnel. Issue purchase orders after authorization, confirm supplier commitments and expedite late or critical materials. Monitor component availability, minimum order quantities, obsolescence, shortages and potential substitutes; route technical substitutions for engineering approval. Coordinate incoming material receipt, quantity verification, identification and required documentation. Maintain accurate inventory, material traceability, customer-owned material records and ERP/MRP transactions. Prepare and verify production kits with components, bare boards and associated documentation before scheduled builds. Coordinate with production scheduling, quality and engineering to resolve material shortages and support on-time releases. Maintain purchasing and logistics work instructions and records consistent with ISO 9001/AS9100 requirements. Required Qualifications This position may require a US government clearance; therefore the applicant must be a US citizen. At least five years of purchasing, materials coordination or logistics experience in electronics manufacturing or a closely related environment. Demonstrated experience sourcing electronic components and bare printed circuit boards. Ability to interpret PCB bills of materials, manufacturer part numbers and purchasing specifications. Experience with supplier RFQs, purchase orders, receiving, inventory accuracy and production kitting. Ability to develop reliable material cost estimates and manage multiple priorities independently. Proficiency with spreadsheets and ERP/MRP or inventory management software. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting complete PCB assembly quotations and contract electronics manufacturing. Knowledge of SMT and through-hole assembly material requirements. Experience with approved vendor lists, alternate sourcing, traceability and counterfeit-part controls. Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 documentation and quality systems. Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, electronics or a related field. Work Environment and Schedule This is an on-site position in the Austin, Texas area, normally Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Periodic travel to Temple, Texas and occasional travel to Huntsville, Alabama are required. The role combines office work with receiving, inventory handling and production kitting activities.
