Purchasing Coordinator

Purchasing Coordinator Department: Operations Reports To: Director of Operations Location: Denton, Texas Position Type: Full-Time Position Summary J&L Management Group LLC seeks a bilingual, organized, and tech-savvy Purchasing Coordinator to purchase materials and supplies for our underground utilities’ projects. This individual will work closely with foremen, superintendents, project managers, and vendors to ensure materials are ordered accurately, delivered on time, and purchased at competitive prices. Key Responsibilities Purchase materials and supplies for underground water, sewer, storm drainage, and other utility projects. Communicate with foremen and project managers to identify material needs, quantities, specifications, and delivery schedules. Request and compare vendor quotes to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery options. Negotiate pricing and develop strong relationships with vendors. Create, issue, and track purchase orders (POs). Coordinate deliveries and resolve order discrepancies, delays, and shortages. Manage a high volume of phone calls, emails, and purchasing requests. Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor information, and cost comparisons. Use technology and company software to organize orders and track purchasing activity. Qualifications Fluent in English and Spanish — required. Purchasing or procurement experience required; construction or underground utilities experience strongly preferred. Experience creating purchase orders and comparing vendor pricing. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize urgent requests, and work in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented, proactive, dependable, and comfortable handling frequent calls and changing priorities.
