Purchasing Clerk

Position Summary Provides purchasing and administrative support to the procurement and supply chain team by processing purchase orders, maintaining purchasing data, monitoring supplier deliveries, and coordinating with internal departments to ensure timely material availability for manufacturing operations. Supports Buyers in achieving inventory, delivery, and operational objectives. Key Responsibilities Purchase Order Management Transmit purchase orders to suppliers and confirm order receipt. Track open purchase orders and follow up on delivery commitments. Update order acknowledgments, promised delivery dates, and pricing information in SAP. Assist Buyers with expediting critical material orders. Generate purchasing reports and open-order status reports. Communicate with suppliers regarding order confirmations, shipment status, and order discrepancies. Obtain and document supplier acknowledgments. Support supplier follow-up activities to ensure material availability. Assist with special demand requests and urgent material needs. Support Buyers in resolving material availability issues affecting production schedules. Prepare reports related to supplier deliveries, open orders, and purchasing metrics. Support continuous improvement activities within procurement processes. Qualifications Required 1-3 years of purchasing, procurement, administrative, or customer service experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred). Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
