Role Description The Purchasing Assistant is a contract, on-site role based in Brampton, ON. This position supports day-to-day purchasing activities by preparing and processing purchase orders, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. The Purchasing Assistant will assist in tracking inventory levels, obtaining quotes, and comparing pricing to support cost-effective procurement decisions. The role involves regular communication with internal teams such as engineering, production, and finance to clarify requirements and resolve discrepancies. The successful candidate will help maintain efficient purchasing processes in a fast-paced automated manufacturing environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess experience with Purchasing Processes and Purchasing, including basic knowledge of supply chain or procurement workflows. Candidates should possess skills in Purchase Orders, including preparing, reviewing, and tracking PO documentation accurately. Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to interact effectively with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and team members. Candidates should possess foundational Procurement skills, such as vendor coordination, obtaining quotations, and supporting cost and quality objectives. Relevant qualifications include prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with MS Office and ERP or purchasing systems. Additional beneficial qualifications include organizational and time-management skills, ability to work on-site in Brampton, ON, and a diploma or coursework in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
