Purchasing Assistant
William A HazelWilliam A. Hazel, Inc., a total site development contractor for 60 years, seeks a Purchasing Assistant . The individual in this position will be responsible for performing duties involving purchasing and procurement data collection, coordination and entry, invoice approval, and general administrative tasks. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter that is able to work independently. Essential Functions Basic administrative functions including filing, copying, scanning, and typing Collection, sorting, distribution, and delivery of documents related to construction materials purchasing Monitor and sort email box dedicated to construction materials purchasing and receipts documentation File, catalogue, record and verify documentation, invoices, and correspondence related to construction materials purchasing Verify vendor invoices received against company purchase order accuracy of materials pricing and quantities received Process invoices for materials received in the company storage yard and process transfers of materials to other company jobs and locations Participate in month-end closing process with responsibilities for collection and recording of job invoices and developing and proposing end of month accruals for invoices not received Perform three-way matching process and obtain internal approvals of vendor invoices Receive blasting materials from time sheets into inventory Reception area coverage for phones and office visitors during reception administrative personnel’s daily lunch hour and as needed Other duties as assigned Requirements High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent Basic knowledge of inventory and purchasing business procedures Ability to use standard office equipment Experience working with computers with basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Ability to communicate effectively and present information in one-on-one situations and through email with other employees Organizational skills and ability to function effectively in a deadline-driven environment Knowledge of Viewpoint/Vista preferred Benefits Compensation commensurate with experience Paid time off, health, dental, life and disability insurance Education assistance Company sponsored 401(k) and matching after meeting service requirements William A.
