Creative Blow Mold ToolingAs a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the purchasing and procurement process by coordinating purchase orders, communicating with vendors, tracking inventory, and following up on deliveries. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will help ensure materials, supplies, and services are purchased accurately and delivered on time. You will work closely with vendors, accounting, warehouse, production, and management teams to maintain efficient purchasing operations. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Excel, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Hours Monday–Friday – Business Hours Pay Range: $18.00 – $22.00/hour Expected Annual Salary: $37,440 – $45,760 per year Job Type: Full-time Location: Troy, IL Responsibilities Create, issue, and track purchase orders and purchasing requisitions according to company requirements. Research suppliers, request quotations (RFQs), compare pricing, and assist with negotiating basic purchasing terms. Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, order status, shipping information, and delivery schedules. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and production teams to help prevent material shortages or production delays. Track shipments and follow up with vendors regarding delayed, damaged, or incorrect orders. Verify vendor invoices by matching invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation. Assist accounting with resolving billing discrepancies, pricing differences, and other vendor-related invoice issues. Maintain accurate purchasing records, including purchase orders, pricing agreements, vendor information, and approved supplier lists. Enter and maintain purchasing and inventory information using Microsoft Excel and company ERP or inventory management systems. Support the purchasing team with administrative duties, reporting, filing, and other procurement-related activities. Adhere to company policies and maintain a professional and organized work environment. Skills Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with vendors, accounting, warehouse, production, and management teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including basic data entry, sorting, filtering, and spreadsheet management. Familiarity with purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar software. Ability to compare pricing, review purchasing information, and perform basic mathematical calculations. Strong follow-up and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve purchasing and delivery issues. Ability to manage multiple purchase orders, vendors, and priorities while meeting deadlines. Previous experience with purchase orders, vendor coordination, inventory tracking, or invoice verification is preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain, or procurement processes is a plus. Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential company and vendor information. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Accounting, or a related field preferred. 1-3 years of administrative, purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or related experience preferred.
