As a Purchasing Assistant, you will be working with multiple departments to review purchasing reports, determine needs, solicit vendor pricing and sending RFQ's, place orders. You will also be assisting in contract management, following up on supply requests, and monitoring inventory levels of essential products. The ideal candidate has strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed, and an understanding of supply chain procedures. Responsibilities Review purchasing reports, daily, to determine inventory demand, send RFQ's to suppliers Place orders, expedite purchase orders, follow up on delays, and maintain strong working relationships with vendors Maintain accurate inventory levels, ordering inventory to maintain specific stock levels Evaluate offers from multiple vendors, determining the best value based on price and quality Research suppliers, develop new supply chains Manage vendor contracts, as needed Coordinate shipping with other departments Qualifications Previous experience in a similar position desired Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, strong working knowledge of Excel Strong written and verbal communication skills Understanding of the supply chain, and common issues surrounding it, desired The ability to multitask and shift priorities, as needed Associate or Bachelor's degree, preferred High school graduate with strong software, computer and organizational skills would be considered Location We are located in Bridgeton, MO near intersection of Highway 270 and St Charles Rock Road
