Purchasing and Logistics Specialist
ConfidentialJob Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing and Logistics Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating international purchasing activities, order planning, import logistics and monitoring shipments, delivery times, and logistics costs. Your expertise will ensure seamless coordination across multiple functions, optimize logistics processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Identify and evaluate international suppliers. Prepare and follow up on international purchase orders. Follow up on samples, new products, and quality approvals. Identify cost-reduction opportunities. International Logistics Coordinate shipments from the supplier to the final destination. Request and compare quotations from different freight forwarders and shipping lines. Coordinate container bookings. Track ETD, ETA, and transshipments. Oversee shipping documentation: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, and any other required documents. Coordinate with customs brokers. Track shipments in transit and resolve delays or incidents. Coordinate deliveries to different destinations and markets. Cost Control – New Products Update landed cost analysis by product and by case. Supplier Management Maintain ongoing communication with suppliers. Evaluate supplier performance in terms of price, quality, compliance, and delivery times. Planning Work with the commercial team to prepare purchasing forecasts. Maintain an updated calendar of purchase orders, production, and shipments. Required Technical Skills Experience in international purchasing. Knowledge of ocean freight and international transportation. Experience handling import and export documentation. Advanced Excel skills. Ability to analyze prices, costs, and margins. Knowledge of ERP or inventory/purchasing management systems. Communication Advanced English, both written and spoken. Excellent communication skills via email and virtual meetings. Ability to communicate with suppliers from different countries and cultures. Ideal Experience 3–5 years of experience in international purchasing, imports, or international logistics. Experience with ocean freight and containers. Experience negotiating directly with manufacturers. Experience managing multiple suppliers and shipments simultaneously.
