Purchasing Agent

Job Summary GEN-Y Door is hiring a full-time Purchasing Agent. You'll partner with the General Manager on daily material needs while executing the purchasing standards set by our corporate Director of Purchasing. The role owns the full life of the material — from requisition and PO through receiving and invoice resolution — and keeps inventory accurate in NetSuite. This is a full-time position, typically 40–45 hours per week with an on-site presence in Nappanee, IN. Duties Partner with the General Manager to maintain targeted stock availability to prevent line stoppages while optimizing inventory turnover. Execute the procurement vision and protocols set by the Director of Purchasing, including corporate vendor standards and company-wide cost-reduction initiatives. Manage the full purchasing cycle: create purchase orders, track open orders, coordinate receiving, and resolve invoice discrepancies. Maintain accurate stock levels in NetSuite and perform regular cycle counts. Identify and reduce slow moving and dead stock while keeping inventory turns high. Collaborate with the Finance, Operations, and Purchasing directors to keep inventory levels aligned with company targets. Monitor commodity trends (aluminum, steel, components) and provide data to leadership to support forward-looking purchasing decisions Education: Hig h school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or a related field preferred. Experience 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or inventory experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment. Experience with an ERP system required; NetSuite experience strongly preferred. Skills Strong organization and follow-through across many open orders at once. Comfortable with numbers, spreadsheets, and reconciling invoices to POs and receipts. Clear communicator with vendors, shop floor leaders, and management. Working knowledge of raw materials such as aluminum and steel is a plus.
