Joining Technologies, Inc.Job Title: Purchasing Agent Reports To: Procurement & Spare Parts Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary: The Purchasing Agent is responsible for procuring materials, components, equipment, and services to support company projects and production needs. This position works with vendors and internal teams to obtain competitive pricing, ensure timely procurement, and support quoting activities for capital equipment and fabricated components. Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 1. Generate purchase orders for materials, components, equipment, and services to support project and production needs. 2. Communicate with vendors to confirm orders, request lead times, follow up on delivery status, and resolve purchasing-related issues. 3 .Request and obtain supplier quotations for capital equipment and fabricated components. 4. Review and compare supplier quotations as needed to support purchasing decisions and ensure alignment with project and production requirements. 5. Collaborate with Engineering and Project Management to clarify specifications, requirements, and other information necessary for accurate procurement and quoting. 6. Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and other purchasing conditions with vendors in accordance with company policies and business requirements. 7. Maintain organized purchasing records, including purchase orders, order confirmations, quotations, and other relevant procurement documentation. 8. Update bills of materials (BOMs) and ensure accurate documentation of purchased components and materials. 9. Assist Accounts Payable by researching and resolving invoice and purchase order discrepancies. 10. Develop a basic understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to support purchasing and quoting activities. Formal engineering expertise is not required. 11. Provide support to other departments as needed, where applicable, to help maintain operational continuity. ***The duties and responsibilities as described above may be supplemented by other duties needed to help drive our organization’s Vision and Core Values.
