Purchasing Agent

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Purchasing Agent to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in supporting estimating, purchasing, manufacturing, and construction operations within a fast-paced metal fabrication environment. Key Responsibilities Source and procure a wide range of metals and materials, including: Carbon steel Stainless steel Aluminum Alloy materials Structural steel products such as beams, channels, angles, tubing, and pipe Collaborate closely with estimators to obtain competitive pricing and lead times for: Raw materials Tooling Subcontracted services Equipment and specialty purchases Coordinate with manufacturing departments, machine shop personnel, laser cutting operations, and field construction crews to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to production facilities and job sites. Maintain vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and support cost-control initiatives. Assist with inventory planning, purchasing schedules, and overall project support. Utilize Microsoft Office and company software systems to track purchasing activities, maintain records, and generate reports. Qualifications Previous purchasing and procurement experience required, preferably within the metal fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or industrial sectors. Strong knowledge of metal products, structural steel, and related materials. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business software applications. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with multiple departments. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience with bookkeeping, accounting, accounts payable, or financial administration is highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage. Experience in job-shop manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or construction-related operations. Benefits Benefits available to eligible full-time employees. Waiting period may apply.
