BUILD STRONG SUPPLIER PARTNERSHIPS AT COILCRAFT Position: Purchasing Specialist Location: Cary, Illinois Coilcraft, Inc. is a privately held global manufacturer headquartered in Cary, Illinois, with a 75+ year reputation for quality and engineering excellence. Our high-performance magnetic components serve customers across telecommunications, computing, automotive, broadband communications, and consumer electronics worldwide. We are seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our Purchasing team. In this role, you'll help develop and manage a reliable supplier base while working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to ensure materials meet Coilcraft's expectations for quality, cost, availability, and delivery. About The Role And Your Impact Identify, evaluate, select, and develop suppliers that meet requirements for cost, quality, delivery, availability, and reliability Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing suppliers Support supplier qualification activities, data collection and analysis, reporting, and corrective and preventive actions Identify opportunities to improve material value, quality, processing, and overall cost Initiate supply agreements and support procurement activities for materials used in manufacturing operations Investigate supplier-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions Work with Engineering and Operations to maintain and improve material specifications while reducing product variation, processing costs, and scrap Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to involve suppliers early in new product development and product modification initiatives Visit suppliers as needed to evaluate capabilities, quality, processes, and opportunities for improvement Administer online purchasing systems and maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain Who We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience 2–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment preferred Strong Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to develop productive relationships with suppliers and internal departments Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Preferred Skills Experience with MRP or ERP systems Knowledge of inventory control and materials management Familiarity with ISO/IATF 16949 requirements Experience with purchasing and shipping processes Experience with supplier qualification, development, and corrective actions Experience working directly with Engineering and Manufacturing teams Familiarity with supplier negotiations and supply agreements Why You'll Love Working at Coilcraft Play an important role in supporting a global manufacturing organization Develop relationships with suppliers while working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations Gain exposure to supplier development, sourcing, quality, and new product initiatives Join a stable, privately held company with a 75+ year history Work in a collaborative environment where your decisions directly impact quality, cost, and manufacturing performance Comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) with company match, and profit sharing Benefits 401(k) Matching Dental Insurance Disability Insurance Employee Assistance Program Flexible Spending Account Health Insurance Health Savings Account Life Insurance Paid Holidays Paid Time Off Profit Sharing Vision Insurance Equal Opportunity Employer: Disability / Veteran This position may require compliance with ITAR export regulations; applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
