Position Summary St. Cloud Window is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Purchasing Agent to join our Operations team. The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing materials, equipment, and services required to support manufacturing operations while ensuring optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, supplier management experience, and an analytical approach to inventory and procurement processes. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production schedules and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. Essential Responsibilities Procure raw materials, components, glass, aluminum, hardware, packaging materials, and other manufacturing-related supplies. Create, issue, and manage purchase orders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planning to prevent shortages and minimize excess inventory. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Solicit and analyze quotations, negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms. Evaluate supplier performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost. Resolve supplier-related issues, including shortages, quality concerns, and delivery delays. Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Shipping, and Quality departments to support operational requirements. Identify cost-reduction opportunities through strategic sourcing and vendor consolidation. Maintain accurate purchasing records and data within the ERP system. Assist with forecasting material requirements based on production schedules and sales demand. Support inventory control initiatives, cycle counting activities, and continuous improvement projects. Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and established procedures. Qualifications Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of 3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related discipline. Experience in the window, glazing, fenestration, aluminum, or construction manufacturing industry. APICS, CPSM, CPM, or other supply chain certification. Experience with inventory planning and demand forecasting.
