Purchaser

 Major Drilling, one of the world’s largest and most successful drilling companies, has an opening for a Warehouse Purchaser in our Salt Lake City location. This full-time position will be a key member of our Warehouse Team. The successful candidate will be efficient and organized as well as a self-starter. They must have a positive attitude, be dependable, and eager to learn.   

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

• Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services related to shop and maintenance.
• Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes. 
• Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories. 
• Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in the correct amounts. 
• Study dales records and inventory levels of current stock to develop strategic purchasing programs that facilitate employee access to supplies. 
• Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods. 
• Other purchasing or administrative tasks as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• High school graduate or GED preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Previous purchasing experience preferred but not required
• Previous administrative experience preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively 
• Ability to maintain organization and order in work
• Reliable in work delivery and attendance
