Company Overview Pylon Electronics Inc is an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration facility supporting both electronic and physical test equipment and is one of the largest Canadian Owned Calibration Laboratories. Pylon Electronics has a solid reputation in the repair and calibration of measuring instruments. We currently have seven laboratories located in Montreal (QC), Ottawa (ON), Toronto (ON), Dartmouth (NS), Calgary (AB), Edmonton (AB), and Richmond (BC). What we are looking for: Pylon Electronics is seeking an ambitious individual with skills and qualifications for a full-time position as a Purchaser at Pylon. The successful candidate will manage the end-to-end procurement of precision measuring equipment, specialized tools, and laboratory supplies. They will be the bridge between internal technical teams and external vendors, ensuring all acquired goods meet strict quality and traceability standards What you will do: Day-to-day operations of all local store’s activities. Monthly reporting on stores activities and inventories. Provide support and guidance to other facilities procurement needs. Purchase material and service as required to support Calibration and Instrumentation activities. Assist with Reconciliation of all facilities inventory accounts. Seek out potential or alternative vendors and suppliers for all company activities. Create and maintain vendor files. Prepare and send Request For Quotes (RFQ’s) to vendors. Advise appropriate dept. of estimated delivery date (EDD) of part(s) or service(s) Follow up on RFQ’s not received. Create Purchase Orders (PO’s) to send to vendors. Follow up on past due PO’s and advise appropriate dept. Track and manage receipts and issues of parts and subcontracts. Support DRMIS team and PMO on DND parts and subcontract procurement issues and strategies. Interface with accounting to provide accurate transaction information. Perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Lab Manager. What we require: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field is preferred. 3+ years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within a manufacturing, laboratory, or high-tech environment. Strong negotiation and analytical skills to secure the best value for complex equipment. Excellent attention to detail for verifying technical specifications in orders. High-level communication skills to collaborate effectively Controlled Goods & Industrial Security Clearance of Secret Level II will be required. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a rigorous security screening to obtain a Secret Security Clearance with the Industrial Security and Controlled Goods Program.
