ocess purchase orders. The ideal candidate will bring approximately 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience and have previously improved purchasing processes, created or updated SOPs, streamlined workflows, or introduced more effective purchasing practices.
The position will manage day-to-day purchasing while also reviewing purchasing activity, identifying trends, improving procedures, and helping build a more efficient purchasing function as the company continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day purchasing activities and the full purchase order lifecycle.
• Source suppliers and request and evaluate vendor quotes.
• Compare pricing, availability, terms, and service levels.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve purchasing or delivery issues.
• Support purchasing needs for field operations, projects, equipment maintenance, PPE, and consumable materials.
• Monitor recurring purchases and identify items that may benefit from more strategic stocking or sourcing.
• Review purchasing data and identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
• Ensure purchases are appropriately assigned to projects and general ledger accounts.
• Review existing purchasing SOPs and procedures and recommend improvements.
• Create or update purchasing SOPs where process gaps exist.
• Streamline purchasing workflows and introduce purchasing best practices.
• Assist with purchasing-related processes during an ongoing NetSuite implementation.
• Partner with operations and other internal teams to anticipate future material and supply needs.
• Support additional purchasing and procurement projects as the organization grows.
Qualifications
• Approximately 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, buying, or a related supply chain function.
• Hands-on experience managing purchase orders, vendors, quotes, and purchasing activities.
• Demonstrated experience improving a process, creating or updating SOPs, streamlining workflows, or implementing purchasing best practices.
• Strong initiative and ability to independently manage responsibilities.
• Strong vendor communication and negotiation skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify purchasing and pricing trends.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and lookup functions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and growing organization.
• Comfortable working 100% onsite in Kemah, TX.
Preferred Experience
• Construction, industrial, manufacturing, materials, equipment, or field-service purchasing.
• Experience supporting field or project-based operations.
• NetSuite experience.
• ERP implementation or system-conversion exposure.
• Purchasing analysis, inventory planning, or cost-saving initiatives.
