Duties Safely operate commercial trucks, including tanker trucks, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Load, secure, transport, and unload propane cylinders and hazardous materials in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries along over-the-road (OTR) routes and local route driving schedules. Conduct pre-trip inspections on trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other delivery equipment to verify safety and operational readiness. Deliver propane and related freight to residential, commercial, or industrial customers while providing exceptional customer service. Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and compliance records in accordance with DOT regulations. Handle manual cargo loading and unloading processes with precision while ensuring safety standards are met during all manual handling activities. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation with a focus on propane or hazardous materials. Strong knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures for dangerous goods such as propane cylinders or tanker loads. Familiarity with truck driving regulations including DOT (Department of Transportation), FMCSA guidelines, and hazardous materials regulations. Ability to operate various types of trucks including manual transmission and automatic transmissio. Skilled in route planning using GPS navigation systems for efficient route driving across diverse terrains. Excellent manual handling skills for safe load & unload operations in compliance with logistics cargo handling standards. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with necessary endorsements such as Hazmat certification preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain Hazmat endorsement is a plus.
