Propane Delivery Driver

Responsibilities Safely operate propane delivery trucks, including tractor-trailers with tanker configurations, ensuring compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and hazardous materials regulations. Plan and execute delivery routes using GPS navigation systems for efficient and timely service across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Load and unload propane cylinders or bulk tanks with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment to maintain vehicle safety and operational readiness. Follow all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations for commercial truck driving, including hours of service, load securement, and vehicle maintenance. Communicate effectively with dispatch to coordinate route schedules and address any delivery issues promptly. Handle hazardous materials responsibly by adhering to hazardous goods regulations during loading, transport, and unloading processes. Maintain accurate delivery logs, cargo documentation, and safety records in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with freight delivery involving propane or hazardous materials. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) required with endorsements for Hazmat and Tanker operations. Familiarity with truck loading/unloading procedures, including manual handling of freight in various configurations such as flatbeds or tankers. Knowledge of logistics cargo handling practices to ensure safe transportation of dangerous goods. Ability to operate GPS navigation systems efficiently for route planning across diverse locations. Strong understanding of DOT regulations related to commercial driving and hazardous materials compliance. Experience with manual transmission trucks preferred but not mandatory if willing to learn; physical capability for manual handling tasks is essential. Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, dispatchers, and safety personnel.
