Duties Safely operate commercial trucks, including tanker trucks, to deliver propane and other hazardous materials to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Utilize GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and local deliveries. Follow all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and hazardous materials regulations to ensure compliance during transportation and delivery. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other equipment to maintain safety standards. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including logs for load & unload activities, route driving records, and incident reports. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates or delivery issues while adhering to truck driving safety protocols. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving or delivery driving with a focus on propane or hazardous materials preferred. Familiarity with truck loading and unloading procedures involving freight handling and cargo securing techniques. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials handling, and dangerous goods transportation is essential. Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or similar equipment is highly desirable. Ability to navigate using GPS navigation systems confidently across various routes including OTR routes. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for Hazmat (hazardous materials) transportation preferred; manual transmission experience is a plus. Strong commitment to safety standards with understanding of truck driving regulations related to load securement and vehicle maintenance.
