Project Planner
Senesco MarineDepartment Planning and Production Control Reporting to Planning and Production Control Manager, as assigned Summary Statement The Project Planner supports successful shipbuilding execution by translating project requirements into coordinated executable plans before work reaches the production floor. The position works across Project Management, Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, and other functions to define work scope, sequencing, readiness needs, and near-term priorities. The role identifies missing information, material, resources, and other constraints early so responsible departments can resolve them before planned work is affected. The Project Planner provides reliable planning information that supports production readiness, workload coordination, and timely project decisions. Primary Responsibilities: Develops and maintains project planning structures, work packages, milestone plans, and look-ahead plans that translate project requirements into executable work. Coordinates with Project Management, Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, and other functions to validate scope, required inputs, sequence, and readiness for planned work. Identifies drawing, material, labor, facility, predecessor-work, inspection, and decision constraints early and communicates them to the appropriate owner before they affect production. Supports development of build strategies and production plans by organizing major phases, work areas, modules, systems, and work packages into a practical execution framework. Maintains planning assumptions, constraints, required dates, and assigned planning records so current information is available to schedulers, production leaders, and project teams. Facilitates near-term look-ahead planning and readiness reviews to help ensure work released to Production has the information, material, resources, and access needed for execution. Works with the Project Scheduler to ensure approved planning logic, durations, interfaces, and need dates are correctly represented in the project schedule. Supports production-control activities by reviewing planned versus actual execution, identifying emerging impacts, and helping develop recovery or resequencing options. Participates in lessons learned and continuous improvement activities that improve planning quality, work readiness, and coordination across departments.
