At Avanade, a Project Operations Functional Consultant (ERP Focus) plays a client‑facing advisory role, responsible for shaping, configuring, and delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations solutions that drive business outcomes. The role bridges business requirements and platform capabilities, ensuring solutions align to Microsoft best practices and Avanade delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements discovery workshops and analyze end‑to‑end business processes across Project Operations Lite implementation.
  • Translate business needs into functional solution designs, fit‑gap analyses, and configuration decisions.
  • Configure Dynamics 365 Project Operations components including:
    • Entities, forms, views, business rules
    • Business Process Flows, workflows, and Power Automate flows.
  • Act as the functional authority on projects, advising clients on Dynamics 365 best practices and roadmap implications.
  • Collaborate with technical consultants on integrations, customizations, and data migration.
  • Translate functional requirements that are gaps into functional design documents. 
  • Define data migration, template definitions, and work with customers during data migration. 
  • Create and manage work items in Azure DevOps 
  • Define and execute UAT strategies, test scenarios, and validation plans.
  • Deliver training, enablement, and knowledge transfer to client teams.

Business Analysis in the areas of:

  • Opportunity, Project based quoting, Project Contracting
  • Project WBS planning, Task scheduling (Preferred)
  • Project Resource management (Preferred)
  • Time and Expense Entries
  • Project Budgeting and Forecasts, Costing
  • Proforma Invoicing
  • Project Subcontracts/Purchasing
  • Project Accounting
  • General Ledger and Financial Dimensions
  • Revenue Recognition
  • Sales Taxes
  • Basic Accounts Receivable
  • Consulting background with client‑facing delivery experience.
  • Business analysis, process mapping, and requirements traceability expertise
  • Familiarity with Power Platform (Power Automate, model‑driven apps)
  • Agile / Scrum delivery experience
  • Microsoft certifications (MB‑300, MB310, PL‑200) preferred.
