Position Overview: The Project Manager is responsible for overall planning, execution, financial performance, customer communication, contract administration, procurement coordination, scheduling, project controls, and successful closeout of assigned electrical construction projects. The Project Manager owns the project. This role keeps the project team, field leadership, vendors, internal departments, and customers aligned around safety, budget, schedule, quality, and documentation. The Project Manager leads Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Coordinators as assigned, and holds full project accountability on projects where no Senior Project Manager is assigned. Claims, disputes, and non-standard contract terms are escalated to the Senior Project Manager or Project Executive. Key Responsibilities: Lead assigned projects from startup and turnover through execution, closeout, and final financial resolution. Develop project execution plans, staffing approach, procurement needs, schedules, budgets, and communication expectations. Own the project budget, forecast, cost reports, billing, cash flow, change management, and margin performance. Review labor productivity, material, and subcontractor costs regularly, explain variances, and identify cost savings without compromising quality. Administer contract requirements, RFIs, submittals, change orders, permits, correspondence, and closeout obligations. Identify, price, document, negotiate, and track changes in scope, schedule, cost, and project requirements. Maintain documentation strong enough to support customer communication, claims avoidance, billing, and closeout. Ensure work meets design specifications, safety standards, and building codes through regular site visits and quality checks. Serve as primary point of contact for customers, GCs, key vendors, and internal stakeholders, with timely updates on progress and potential delays. Coordinate across field operations, Design/BIM, prefabrication, purchasing, safety, QA/QC, accounting, vendors, and subcontractors, and support field leaders with information, material planning, and issue resolution. Lead and coach Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Coordinators through clear assignments, review, and follow-up. Identify project risks early and implement practical mitigation or escalation plans. Qualifications & Requirements: Proven experience as a Project Manager in the electrical construction industry. Knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations, and ability to read and interpret construction drawings. Demonstrated ability to independently own the full scope of a project — planning, financial performance, schedule, contract administration, and customer relationship — without day-to-day oversight. Sound judgment in identifying and escalating risk, negotiating day-to-day scope and schedule items with customers, and protecting project profitability. Ability to lead and develop Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Coordinators, including on projects where no Senior Project Manager is assigned. Proficiency with Procore or an equivalent project platform, Microsoft Excel, and Bluebeam Revu, and the ability to adapt to new technologies. Willingness to travel to and work from out-of-area project sites as assigned. Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 and ERP/project accounting systems preferred. Experience owning projects of increasing size, complexity, or risk, including contract negotiation, claims, or project recovery, preferred. PMP, OSHA 30, or equivalent industry qualifications preferred.
