The Project Manager Engineer I will coordinate supplier-dependent technical projects, with particular focus on prototype builds, purchasing activities, schedule management, and execution follow-up. This role is responsible for helping teams translate technical requirements into clear sourcing and execution plans; preparing and tracking purchase requisitions and purchase orders; monitoring supplier commitments, prototype build status, risks, costs, and due dates; and providing timely project reporting to stakeholders. The successful candidate is organized, proactive, comfortable working across technical and commercial functions, and willing to take ownership of follow-up activities. The individual will partner closely with engineering and other technical experts to remove execution gaps, escalate issues when appropriate, and help projects achieve scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives Job Requirements Coordinate technical projects involving suppliers, prototype materials, components, tooling, and related services for data center and connectivity applications. Plan, report, manage, and track prototype builds from requirements definition through supplier delivery and internal evaluation. Partner with engineering and technical experts to understand specifications, prototype needs, priorities, dependencies, and acceptance criteria. Coordinate supplier activities, obtain status updates, confirm commitments, and drive closure of actions affecting prototype delivery, cost, quality, or technical readiness. Create, submit, and track purchase requisitions and purchase orders in SAP, following applicable procurement and approval processes. Monitor purchasing status, supplier acknowledgements, lead times, promised delivery dates, and open commercial or technical issues. Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, action-item logs, risk registers, and status reports. Identify schedule gaps, supply risks, resource constraints, and changes that may affect project objectives; escalate issues with clear facts and proposed recovery actions. Facilitate cross-functional reviews with engineering, procurement, supply chain, operations, quality, finance, and suppliers as needed. Communicate roles, expectations, priorities, decisions, and due dates clearly to project stakeholders. Support project budget tracking, quotation follow-up, prototype cost visibility, and alignment between approved scope and supplier spending. Contribute to continuous improvement of project management, prototype procurement, supplier coordination, and reporting practices. TE's prototype development strategy combines rapid internal prototyping capabilities with specialized external suppliers for casting, tooling, molding, PCB fabrication, and complex assemblies. Internal facilities primarily focus on assembly, soldering, welding, testing, and cable termination, while external partners provide specialized manufacturing processes necessary to accelerate development and validate designs prior to production tooling investment. Most immediately, you will : Join a technical project team supporting data center and connectivity product development activities. Build a clear tracker for prototype requirements, supplier ownership, purchasing status, build milestones, delivery dates, risks, and open actions. Coordinate purchase requisitions, purchase order submission, supplier follow-up, and receipt of prototype materials or services.
