Main Brook Research and Development CorporationProject Manager – Four-Season Tourism Development Location: Main Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador Position: Full-time contract (2 years) Reports to: Board of Directors Salary: $80,000 per year Benefits: Medical and dental coverage and employer-matched RRSP contributions of up to 3% Main Brook Research and Development Corporation (MBRD) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the continued development of its four-season tourism project. This major community development initiative includes new tourism infrastructure and social enterprises intended to create employment and long-term economic benefits for Main Brook. We are looking for a practical, highly organized professional with strong experience in construction management and government-funded projects . The successful candidate will oversee projects from planning and design through procurement, construction and completion. Key responsibilities Plan and oversee tourism-related construction and development projects. Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, contractors and suppliers. Develop and monitor project budgets, schedules, milestones and deliverables. Oversee procurement processes, including quotations, tenders and requests for proposals. Monitor construction progress, costs, contracts, change orders, deficiencies and project risks. Ensure work is completed in accordance with approved plans, contracts, funding requirements and applicable regulations. Administer government contribution agreements and maintain compliance with funding conditions. Prepare funding claims, progress reports, forecasts and supporting financial documentation. Maintain complete project, procurement, contract and funding records. Provide regular project and financial updates to the Board of Directors. Communicate with government representatives, community partners and other stakeholders. Identify additional funding opportunities and assist with funding applications. Attend all regular and special meetings of the Board of Directors, provide updates on project progress, finances and emerging issues, and respond to questions from the Board. Qualifications and experience The ideal candidate will have: Significant experience managing construction, infrastructure or property-development projects. Experience coordinating contractors, consultants and professional service providers. Knowledge of construction budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, change orders and project closeout. Experience administering government grants, contribution agreements or publicly funded projects. Strong budgeting, reporting, organizational and record-management skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems and work with limited supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A degree or diploma in construction management, engineering, project management, business or a related field would be considered an asset but is not required . An equivalent combination of relevant training and practical experience will be considered. Experience with tourism development, social enterprise, non-profit organizations or rural economic development would also be an asset. Additional requirements The successful candidate must hold a valid driver’s licence, have access to reliable transportation and be available to travel as required.
