Notable Clients & Projects for resorts, hotels, and healthcare facilities such as: Estimator Job Description – Window Treatment Estimator Job Title: Window Treatment Estimator Department: Estimating Reports To: Estimating Manager Position Summary The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations for window covering projects. This role analyzes customer specifications, material requirements, labor, production processes, and overhead costs to determine pricing and profitability. The Estimator works closely with sales, production, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure competitive pricing and timely quote delivery. Responsibilities Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and other construction management tools to develop detailed project budgets and cost proposals. Conduct thorough material cost estimating, including pricing materials from blueprints and managing subcontractor bids through negotiation. Collaborate with project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure accurate scope of work and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including detailed spreadsheets and cost breakdowns using Microsoft Office tools. Analyze construction drawings for accuracy, identify potential issues early, and recommend cost-effective solutions. Manage multiple projects simultaneously by maintaining organized records of estimates, contracts, and project documentation in construction management software like Bluebeam. Requirements Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Xactimate. Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and construction documents. Demonstrated expertise in cost management, material estimating, and pricing strategies for large-scale projects. Solid understanding of construction site operations, contracts, project management principles, and construction industry standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel spreadsheets for estimating and data analysis purposes. Effective negotiation skills with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Construction site experience is highly desirable to better understand on-the-ground realities influencing estimates. Strong communication skills for client interaction and internal team collaboration.
