We are looking for a motivated, dependable, and career-minded Project Engineer who wants to build a long-term career in commercial construction. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate or early-career construction professional to learn the business from experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and other construction professionals. The Project Engineer will gain experience in both project management and field operations , developing an understanding of how a commercial construction project moves from plans and fabrication through installation and completion. The long-term goal is to develop this individual into a well-rounded construction professional who can take on increasing responsibility and potentially advance into a Project Manager, Superintendent, or other construction leadership role . The Opportunity As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with our Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and field crews. You will be involved in the day-to-day coordination of commercial metal fabrication and installation projects and will gain hands-on experience with: Project documentation Construction drawings and specifications Submittals and RFIs Scheduling and project tracking Material procurement and deliveries Jobsite coordination Field operations Safety and quality control Customer and general contractor communication Change orders and project costs Project closeout This is not a position where you will spend your entire day behind a desk. You will spend meaningful time in the field learning how construction actually happens , while also developing the project-management skills necessary to advance your career. What You'll Do Assist Project Managers with the day-to-day management of commercial construction projects Assist with project schedules, tracking, and updates Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project correspondence Help coordinate material procurement, fabrication, deliveries, and installation Attend project, coordination, and jobsite meetings Communicate with general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, field personnel, and customers Visit jobsites regularly to observe progress and help identify field issues Work with Project Managers and Foremen to understand project progress and upcoming work Help track manpower, materials, and production Assist with project documentation and daily reports Help identify potential schedule conflicts and work with the project team to resolve them Assist with quality control and project closeout Learn and understand Job Safety Plans (JSP/JSA) and construction safety requirements Help monitor work to ensure it is being completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and project requirements Assist with maintaining accurate project records Develop an understanding of project budgets, costs, billing, and profitability Take on additional responsibilities as your knowledge and experience grow Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is interested in construction as a career, not simply looking for a job.
