Job Overview Adina Hall Design is a boutique Chicago-based architecture and interior design studio seeking a talented, well-rounded Project Designer – Architecture & Interiors to join our growing team. We are seeking a self-driven, resourceful, and motivated designer who can work across the full design process—from concept through construction and installation . The ideal candidate combines a strong design eye with solid technical skills, takes initiative, is comfortable problem-solving, and can work independently while collaborating closely with the Principal and design team. You should be equally comfortable developing a space plan, sourcing furniture and finishes, creating a client presentation, detailing custom millwork, and producing a coordinated construction drawing set. We value curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to move between the creative and technical sides of a project. Responsibilities Develop design concepts, space plans, material palettes, and client presentations Source and specify furniture, lighting, plumbing, finishes, materials, and architectural products Produce detailed construction drawings, including plans, RCPs, elevations, sections, details, and schedules Develop kitchen, bathroom, and custom millwork drawings Create 3D models and design visualizations as needed Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, showrooms, and fabricators Review shop drawings, samples, and product information Participate in client meetings, field measurements, site visits, and installations Assist with project coordination and procurement Manage multiple project responsibilities and deadlines Collaborate with the Principal and design team from concept through completion Qualifications Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field 3+ years of professional experience Strong portfolio demonstrating both design sensibility and technical ability Strong AutoCAD skills and experience producing detailed construction documents SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite proficiency preferred Experience with residential renovations and interior architecture preferred Knowledge of furniture, lighting, plumbing, materials, finishes, and product sourcing Strong understanding of construction, interior detailing, kitchens, bathrooms, and custom millwork Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Chicago-area based and available for occasional in-person project needs Architectural licensure is not required. Position Details This is an ongoing contract position beginning at 20+ hours per week , with the potential to increase in hours and develop into a full-time position as the studio continues to grow. The position is primarily remote, with in-person collaboration as needed throughout the Chicago area. Compensation: $35–$50/hour, commensurate with experience.
