Glazing GroupProject Coordinator - Glazing and Facade Systems Custom Metal Contracting (Glazing Group) Ltd. is a rapidly growing industry leader seeking an experienced, highly organized, and professional Project Coordinator to support glazing and façade projects from contract award through final closeout. This position is responsible for coordinating projects’ activities, documentation, schedules, procurement, and communication between internal teams, clients, consultants, suppliers, and site personnel to help ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contractual requirements, quality standards, and client expectations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of glazing and façade systems, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to support multiple project priorities. The Project Coordinator will assist with planning, procurement, scheduling, documentation, stakeholder communication, issue tracking, and project closeout. Success in this role requires strong organization, clear communication, follow-through, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, field teams, suppliers, consultants, and clients to support successful delivery of commercial glazing projects. Key Responsibilities 1. Pre-Construction Coordination Estimating & Takeoff Support Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope of work. Collaborate with estimating teams to validate material quantities, system selections, fabrication requirements, and lead times. Participate in value engineering initiatives to optimize system design, performance, and project cost. Submittals & Approvals · Support the preparation and submission of shop drawings, product samples, structural calculations, and supporting documentation. Coordinate submittal reviews with architects, engineers, general contractors, and internal drafting teams. Track approval cycles and proactively resolve issues to prevent project delays. 2. Procurement & Scheduling Material Procurement · Coordinate procurement of glass, aluminum systems, hardware, sealants, and related materials under the direction of the project team. · Maintain vendor communication, track lead times, and support pricing coordination as required. Ensure long-lead materials, including custom tempered and laminated glass products, are ordered and tracked effectively. Project Scheduling · Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules that align with client and construction schedules, including: Design/Engineering/ Shop Drawings Fabrication Procurement and Material deliveries Field labor allocation Crane and lift requirements Site installation activities · Monitor project progress, update schedule information, and communicate changes related to site conditions, weather impacts, and project requirements. 3. Coordination & Communication Internal Coordination Work closely with: Engineering, Design and Drafting Fabrication shop personnel Installation crews Warehouse and logistics teams Health and safety departments External Coordination Attend Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings. Provide regular project updates to clients, general contractors, architects, consultants, and other stakeholders. Coordinate with site supervisors, foremen, and trade partners to resolve field issues efficiently. 4. Financial Coordination Support Budget Control · Track project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors, and provide updates to the project team. · Review vendor invoices for accuracy and support approval routing. · Identify potential budget variances and assist with monthly project cost reporting and forecasting.
