Project Buyer

What You'll Own
• Purchase valves, fittings, pumps, pipe, instrumentation, electrical components, mechanical parts and other equipment for industrial projects.
• Review project requirements, BOMs, drawings, specifications and data sheets to make sure we're buying the right product.
• Source products and identify suitable alternatives when the specified item isn't available, is cost-prohibitive or won't arrive in time.
• Support both project purchasing and inventory requirements.
• Request and compare supplier quotations based on total value, including price, availability, quality, freight, lead time and technical compliance.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times and terms.
• Recommend suppliers and purchasing options based on what's best for the project and the business.
• Build strong supplier relationships while holding vendors accountable for their commitments.
• Create and manage accurate purchase orders in our ERP system.
• Confirm pricing, quantities, specifications and delivery dates.
• Track open orders and expedite before something becomes late.
• Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, Warehouse, Projects, Operations and Sales to keep critical materials moving.
What we are seeking:
• Has 2+ years of hands-on industrial purchasing or buying experience.
• Has purchased technical products, equipment or components.
• Can confidently work with BOMs, drawings, specifications or data sheets.
• Understands how purchasing decisions affect project schedules.
• Is comfortable negotiating and pushing suppliers for better pricing or delivery.
• Follows up without needing to be reminded.
• Can manage several changing priorities without losing accuracy.
• Has experience using an ERP system. Microsoft Business Central experience is an asset.
