Program Operations Manager
Hua Momona FoundationHua Momona Foundation is seeking a highly execution-oriented Program Operations Manager to help turn program plans into coordinated, on-the-ground implementation across the Foundation and Hua Momona Farms. This is a cross-functional role. The Program Operations Manager will regularly move between Foundation personnel, farm personnel, contractors, vendors, community partners, and program participants to make sure projects actually get implemented. A major initial focus will be Rain to Resilience (R2R) , including the farm-based research, testing, procurement, logistics, workshops, and participant deployment required to bring the program from planning into operation. The role is designed for someone who is comfortable operating both behind a computer and physically in the field. On one day, this person may be maintaining the R2R implementation schedule, comparing procurement needs against the budget, or coordinating contractors. On another, they may be at Hua Momona Farms confirming that an irrigation installation is ready, checking that materials have arrived, coordinating a delivery, preparing equipment for a workshop, or resolving an operational problem with farm staff. The Program Operations Manager is ultimately responsible for helping close the gap between “this is what we decided to do” and “this has actually been completed.” Role Purpose The Program Operations Manager will serve as a central implementation point between Hua Momona Foundation and Hua Momona Farms , coordinating the people, materials, vendors, timelines, sites, and information required to execute Foundation programs and farm-related initiatives. For Rain to Resilience, this means following projects all the way through implementation rather than simply tracking them on a project-management board. If an irrigation prototype needs to be installed at the farm, the Operations Manager helps make sure the contractor is scheduled, materials have been purchased, equipment has arrived, the farm team knows what is happening, the site is ready, the work is completed, and any resulting documentation or follow-up is captured. The same approach applies to workshops, equipment procurement, rain-barrel distribution, agricultural testing, storage, transportation, partner sites, and other operational activities. Key Responsibilities Cross-Organization Implementation The Program Operations Manager will work across Hua Momona Foundation and Hua Momona Farms to coordinate implementation. This includes translating program requirements into practical farm activities and ensuring that information moves effectively between program leadership and the people doing the work on the ground. The manager will help coordinate farm personnel, Foundation personnel, contractors, vendors, interns, fellows, and outside partners around shared projects and deadlines. Rain to Resilience Operations The Program Operations Manager will be deeply involved in the implementation of Rain to Resilience, including: Maintaining the overall R2R implementation calendar and project plan. Coordinating farm-based research, testing, and prototype activities. Coordinating irrigation, rain-catchment, greenhouse, grow-bag, soil, and equipment-related work. Scheduling contractors and confirming site readiness. Coordinating participant workshops and distribution activities. Managing operational relationships with workshop, storage, transportation, and distribution partners. Tracking equipment and materials from procurement through storage, assembly, workshop use, and participant distribution. Coordinating the physical movement of materials between vendors, the farm, storage sites, workshop locations, and participant pickup locations. Identifying implementation problems early and coordinating solutions. Procurement & Vendor Management Procurement will be a significant responsibility of this position . The Program Operations Manager will work closely with the Procurement Specialist and program le…
