Professional Truck Driver
Mega RebarJob Posting: Owner/Operator at Mega Rebar Mega Rebar, an established rebar fabricator and distributor situated in Maple Ridge, BC, is actively seeking motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Professional Truck Driver . This is a permanent, full-time opportunity that offers competitive compensation and benefits. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of rebar and related construction material throughout the Lower Mainland and surrounding areas. Core Duties and Responsibilities: Safely operate vehicles from pickup trucks to 53’ trailers to transport rebar and related construction materials Load, secure, transport and unload materials in accordance with company and regulatory requirements Properly strap and unstrap loads, ensuring all materials are secure before and during transportation. Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections. Maintain accurate and complete driver logs, trip records and transportation documentation. Report vehicle deficiencies, maintenance requirements, load concerns and other safety issues promptly. Ensure compliance with all applicable provincial, federal and transportation safety regulations. Navigate busy urban construction sites and coordinate deliveries with site supervisors and other site personnel. Maintain a high standard of professionalism and represent Mega Rebar positively while on the road and at customer sites. Communicate professionally with customers, site personnel, dispatch and the public. Work Conditions: Deliveries throughout the Lower Mainland and surrounding areas. Extended periods of sitting, driving, and operating equipment. Regular loading, unloading and securing materials in various weather conditions and active construction sites. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on operational needs. Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements: Valid Class 1 & 5 Driver's Licence. Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience. Clean and acceptable driver's abstract. Strong understanding of transportation safety regulations and compliance requirements. Reliable cell phone for communication. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Experience hauling steel, construction materials, or oversized loads. Familiarity with over size/overweight permitting process in BC Experience navigating busy urban construction sites and coordination with site supervisor Assets: Certifications for operating within ports, rail yards, or similar facilities. Previous experience delivering to major construction projects. Familiarity with Lower Mainland construction sites and delivery routes. Benefits: Dental care. Extended health care. Vision care.
