Professional Mover/Driver
MIdwest Moving CompanyWe are seeking a physically fit, timely, and responsible individual to join our team as a Mover/Driver. The primary responsibilities include moving household goods by loading and unloading items from customers’ homes into box trucks and semi-trailers. Depending on business needs, this position may also assist with scheduled delivery routes involving freight, appliances, furniture, and other final-mile deliveries to residential and commercial customers. Movers and drivers are responsible for ensuring all household goods, freight, appliances, and other items are properly handled, protected, loaded, transported, and delivered to avoid damage. A successful Mover/Driver must be capable of carrying a minimum of 250 lbs. with assistance when appropriate; have the stamina to maintain a steady pace throughout the day for shifts of up to 12 hours; possess organizational and problem-solving skills to efficiently load trucks and complete delivery routes; and maintain a professional, customer-focused attitude at all times. Mover and Driver Requirements: Physically fit and capable of performing demanding physical work Handy with tools and comfortable with basic assembly/disassembly Punctual, dependable, and professional Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills High school diploma or equivalent MUST HAVE A VALID U.S. DRIVER'S LICENSE AND CLEAN MVR MUST BE ABLE TO PASS FMCSA DRUG SCREEN MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A USDOT MEDICAL CARD MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION Experience with delivery scanner software preferred Previous moving, freight, appliance delivery, final-mile delivery, or route delivery experience is preferred but not required Responsibilities: Drive company box trucks and other vehicles as assigned (drivers must be 21 or older and have a clean motor vehicle record) Wrap furniture and household goods with appropriate protective materials Load, pack, transport, and unload items with extreme care Assist with scheduled final-mile delivery routes involving freight, appliances, furniture, and other residential or commercial deliveries Load and unload freight and appliances safely and efficiently Deliver items to customers and place them in the requested location when required Assist with basic appliance or furniture placement, assembly, or setup when required by the delivery Use delivery scanner/software applications to document deliveries, obtain signatures, take photos, and update delivery status when applicable Inspect items and document any visible damage or delivery exceptions Ensure items are properly secured during transportation Take inventory of items and ensure nothing is lost during transportation Communicate professionally with management, dispatch, customers, and other team members Collaborate and work effectively as part of a team Work in inclement weather conditions, including rain, snow, high winds, and high summer temperatures Be available for part-time or full-time route delivery assignments as business needs require Schedule: Flexible schedule with approximately 20–40 hours per week Day shifts Monday through Saturday Overtime may be available Must be willing to work weekends Must be willing to work past 5:00 PM when moves or delivery routes run longer than expected Must be willing to occasionally travel Hours and assignments may vary depending on moving jobs, freight routes, and final-mile delivery schedules Supplemental Pay Types: Tips Overtime Per diem Supplemental pay for working odd hours or completing additional side projects if agreed upon Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required) Language: Must speak English (Required) License/Certification: Valid U.S. Driver's License (Required) Clean driving record (Required) Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: 22.00–30.00 per hour Benefits: Company truck Flexible schedule Paid time off Paid training Referral program Shift Options: 8-hour shift 10-hour shift 12-hour shift Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour Be…
