Production Worker - Material Handler

Job Title: Bilingual Material Handler (1st Shift) Overview Summary Summit Staffing is seeking a Bilingual Material Handler to support warehouse and distribution operations in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for safely handling materials, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring accurate shipping and receiving processes. Your bilingual communication skills will play a key role in supporting teamwork and operational efficiency across diverse teams. Job Details ● Location: Irving, TX ● Type: Contract-to-hire ● Schedule: 1st Shift - Monday thru Friday - 5:30 AM - 3:30 PM Key Responsibilities ● Load, unload, and move materials using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment in accordance with safety standards ● Operate RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to accurately pick, pack, and process orders ● Perform order picking duties, including use of picker equipment, to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment ● Support shipping and receiving by verifying inbound and outbound shipments and maintaining accurate logs ● Perform heavy lifting tasks while following OSHA safety guidelines ● Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate warehouse activities and improve workflow efficiency ● Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Skills & Experience ● Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment preferred ● Experience operating forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, or similar heavy equipment ● Familiarity with RF scanners, WMS systems, and order picking technology ● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills ● Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including regular heavy lifting ● Basic mechanical knowledge or construction experience is a plus ● Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations ● Bilingual in English and Spanish required Preferred Qualifications ● Forklift or heavy equipment certification ● Experience with shipping & receiving documentation and processes ● Background in inventory control or logistics operations ● Experience working in high-volume warehouse environments Work Environment ● 1st shift position in a fast-paced warehouse setting ● Frequent use of heavy equipment and machinery ● Physically active role requiring lifting, standing, and movement throughout the shift ● Required PPE: steel-toed shoes, safety vest, and other safety equipment as needed Why Join Summit Staffing?
