About Peacasa Peacasa is an early-stage startup making Chickpea Chips, inspired by Socca — an ancient recipe from the South of France. We started manufacturing just four years ago, and our chips are now in 800 stores and selling through many major chains. We are a small, dynamic team primed to grow quickly over the next few years. We operate out of our production facility at the GROVE in East London, where we are surrounded by other awesome food startups! We are looking for high energy people who want to grow with us :) Description Production & Warehouse Manager supervises the production, packaging and shipping of Peacasa products in the manufacturing environment. They oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process including: Scheduling shifts, training employees, health and safety in the production space, maintaining food safety standards, ensuring quality of finished goods, ensuring production targets are met, following and enforcing corporate policies, shipping and receiving orders, coordinating maintenance activities. Duties Hands-on oversight of the production and warehouse functions with limited supervision Oversees production including Mixing, Seasoning, Casing, Frying, Palletizing. Ensures employees are rotating stations and going for breaks on time, and personally covers stations when needed so the line keeps running. Checks machines are functioning as needed while solving any jams that arise. Supervises and trains the production team members on washdown procedures, and verifies they are completed correctly and on schedule. Supports and motivates production team while following Peacasa corporate values Trains new and existing employees and ensures full compliance with production, health and safety and QA procedures Promotes a safety culture within the production and warehouse environment Completes various HR tasks and forms, as needed. Schedules production shifts and locates replacements using the “When I Work” app and through communications with the Production team. Contributes in the hiring and onboarding process. Monitors and ensures product quality and production targets are being met, assists with quality assurance inspections, and coordinates with QA staff to ensure quality and safety standards are being met. Completes regular GMP checklists and collects batch sheets, inputting them into Katana MRP. Performs warehousing and logistics duties including printing labels, organizing pallet layouts using FIFO method Books and ensures shipping for finished goods and receiving raw materials, including loading and unloading pallets from trucks. Verifies production jobs are being done as per SOP’s & SSOP’s Tracks maintenance logs and coordinates regular maintenance at the facility. Complete weekly/bi-weekly management reviews with the team. May perform other duties as reasonably requested Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements Multitasking - Comfortable making decisions under time pressure in a high speed environment, with minimal supervision. Willingness to perform repetitive tasks in a production environment Mechanical aptitude for operating and maintaining food processing production equipment. - Important. Eye for detail to identify production problems and issues Punctuality, reliability and dependability. On a small team, one absence is felt immediately. Team orientation with ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with other Team Members to complete production duties and meet production targets. Good leadership, empathy and interpersonal skills Willingness to learn all aspects of the production environment. Good English language communication skills, both oral and written Ability to accurately follow directions, guidelines and policies.
