As a Production Scheduler at GEA, you will be an essential part of our mission to deliver exceptional technology to our customers. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to understand manufacturing processes and to leverage data to optimize operations in our Metal Fabrication Production shop.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain production, work, and shipment schedules.
• Oversee production capacity planning and forecasting.
• Prioritize work orders for optimal resource use.
• Collaborate with department supervisors to track progress and completion timelines.
• Assist in resolving production issues as they arise.
• Engage with shop floor management daily to ensure manufacturing efficiency.
• Compile and report performance data to management promptly.
• Coordinate with the supply chain for timely materials delivery.
• Achieve departmental and company goals effectively.
• Identify and implement cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
• Notify relevant departments of production schedule changes.
• Evaluate staffing requirements to meet current and future production needs.
• Create new tracking measures for enhanced workflow efficiency.
• Assist in production excellence data gathering and global reporting systems.
• Lead daily status meetings with the workshop team.
Your Profile / Qualifications:
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate appropriately.
• Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, occasionally stressful environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Familiarity with Lean and continuous improvement practices.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Understand and contribute to the strategic goals of the department.
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field, or a High School diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing/production planning.
• 3+ years' experience in Manufacturing/Production Planning or in using an ERP system.
• Experience in a job shop or engineer-to-order manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
