Production Scheduler

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Production Scheduler to join our growing team on-site at the Lake Air Product plant in New Hope, MN. As a Production Scheduler in the metals fabrication industry, you will monitor forecasts and materials to produce schedules that will allow customer orders to be filled on time.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain production planning and scheduling integrity with a 99% level of record accuracy
• Build and maintain production schedules to support demand from various customers
• Provide support for manufacturing, as well as for internal and external customers
• Develop, maintain, and communicate policies, procedures, and operating guidelines for the planning, scheduling and sequencing for all operations
• Monitor the product supply and demand report to identify and correct any supply shortages, as well as to eliminate unnecessary inventory
• Assist operations managers and order processors to set and control production priorities to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction in meeting promised dates
• Provide authorization to all approved expedite requests, changes, and updates to production and plans for customer commitments
• Maintain stocking levels via manufacturing Kanbans/minimum quantities for inventory hedges

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of production planning and inventory management experience required 
• Exceptional technical skills, including solid load leveling and expediting techniques, inventory management, and lean Kanban management
• Related manufacturing experience and sheet metal fabrication experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills in order to collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Production and potentially customers
• Ability to build and adjust production schedules to accommodate material availability, equipment failures, alternate routings, changing customer demands, rework needs, and more
• Previous experience in a contract manufacturing world or an OEM with many different products preferred
  
• Previous experience with M1 or Epicor preferred
