Job Title: Production Planning Manager Location: Milpitas, CA Work Arrangement: Onsite Experience Level: 7+ Years Duration: Contract Position Job Description & Skill Requirements We are seeking an experienced Production Planning Manager to lead production planning, master scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory management activities within a high-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain planning, ERP/MRP systems, and cross-functional collaboration to support production goals and customer delivery commitments. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of production forecasts, master schedules, capacity plans, and inventory strategies to support operational goals. Partner with operations, procurement, materials, and program management teams to identify and resolve material constraints, production risks, and demand fluctuations. Drive production planning, shop floor scheduling, dispatching, and production control processes to improve throughput, inventory efficiency, and on-time delivery performance. Develop and analyze operational reports, demand forecasts, annual operating plans (AOP), and key performance indicators to support business decisions. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on production efficiency, planning accuracy, and process optimization. Manage and mentor production planning teams while collaborating with internal stakeholders and customers to achieve delivery objectives. Support new product introductions (NPI), product launches, and manufacturing readiness activities. Analyze manufacturing data and provide recommendations for improving capacity utilization, inventory levels, and schedule adherence. Required Qualifications & Experience 7+ years of progressive experience in Production Planning, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, or related fields . Strong experience with: Production planning and master scheduling Capacity planning and demand forecasting Inventory management and optimization Manufacturing resource planning (MRP) Production scheduling and shop floor control Experience leading production planning teams and managing cross-functional activities. Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis, or similar platforms . Experience analyzing operational data, developing reports, and managing manufacturing KPIs. Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred. Master's degree and certifications such as APICS/CPIM/CSCP are preferred. Preferred Experience Electronics manufacturing, EMS, or high-volume manufacturing experience. Experience supporting PCBA manufacturing and production environments. Experience with NPI/product launch planning. Experience implementing or improving ERP/MRP systems. Strong understanding of S&OP processes and manufacturing supply chain operations.
