Production Planning Coordinator

Position Summary Vitalpax is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Production Planning Coordinator to develop, maintain, and coordinate production schedules within our manufacturing facility. This position plays a key role in planning production based on customer priorities, material and packaging availability, production capacity, labor availability, equipment constraints, and required completion dates. The Production Planning Coordinator works closely with Production, Purchasing, Quality, Warehouse, R&D, Sales, and other departments to identify potential issues, communicate priorities, and keep production moving according to plan. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and able to adjust priorities and make sound decisions when production needs or constraints change. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Build and maintain production schedules based on customer priorities, material and packaging readiness, production capacity, labor availability, equipment constraints, and required completion dates. Monitor upcoming production requirements and maintain production readiness information to identify potential scheduling issues before they impact production. Coordinate with Purchasing to confirm material and packaging availability and identify shortages, delays, or other readiness risks. Maintain production calendars, schedules, and planning tools and communicate changes to affected departments. Facilitate production planning discussions and adjust schedules when priorities, capacity, materials, or other constraints change. Develop and communicate weekly production priorities to help Production determine which work should take precedence when unexpected constraints arise. Monitor production paperwork and documentation readiness to help ensure required documentation is prepared ahead of scheduled production. Evaluate labor, equipment, line capacity, and other operational constraints when determining whether production plans are achievable. Monitor inventory and material availability in relation to upcoming production requirements. Identify potential material shortages, capacity constraints, bottlenecks, and other risks that could affect production timelines. Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Quality, Warehouse, R&D, Sales, and management to address issues affecting production. Communicate delays and scheduling impacts related to materials, quality holds, staffing, equipment availability, changing customer priorities, and other production constraints. Review production and inventory information to support scheduling decisions and help maintain appropriate inventory levels. Assist with production reporting, capacity planning, and continuous improvement of production planning processes. Maintain accurate and organized production planning records and information. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in production planning, production scheduling, materials planning, purchasing, inventory management, supply chain, or manufacturing operations preferred. Manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple changing priorities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to evaluate competing production needs and make practical scheduling decisions. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple departments. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365. Experience with ERP or manufacturing planning systems preferred. Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Associate degree or some college preferred; bachelor's degree is a plus.
