Production Planner/Technical Reviewer

Knapheide Truck Equipment Center in McHenry, IL is looking to hire a skilled Production Planner to schedule all shop orders required to meet customer requests. This full-time position works Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This individual is the key contact after entry of customer order until completion and shipment. Utilizing system and other tools, they will provide appropriate priorities on the shop floor to meet customer requirements and guidelines established by the company for production. Reasons to work with us: Stability - We've been in business since 1848 Growth opportunities - Over 25 retail stores and upfit centers, and continued expansion Never Settle - We're committed to adapt, overcome, and continuously improve Collaborative, supportive, and engaging work environments North America's most popular manufacturer of work truck bodies and truck beds What you'll be doing: Schedule all shop orders required to meet customer requests Work with scheduling software system to maintain accurate shop due and customer dates Review all order revision and make appropriate changes to orders in the system and communicate changes to appropriate personal Prepare and maintain effective assembly schedules through daily updates with respective team leaders and review of schedule Review shortage and expedite through all operations to meet shop order completions Capacity recommendations to maintain valid schedule through proposed overtime or manpower Review and monitor established run rates and customer lead time Timely response to EDO process and ticket requests through all levels such as material, purchase, and manufacturing to provide valid date Attend daily scheduling meetings with all departments at location to discuss new and scheduled orders and to prioritize orders Interaction with Inside Sales, Fleet and Truck Pool Departments for inquiries, customer requests, and cancellations Support and attend meeting requests Interact with Inside Sales and Material teams to ensure accurate dates for scheduling Perform technical review of orders before material is ordered and before production to ensure material and labor accuracy Be the point person to assign and track material and shop issues with in the location Lead daily and weekly meetings with inside sales to review issues with orders/shop issues and provide training when needed Be the system expert on how orders need to be created and processed with in the system dealing with custom quotes, supplier builds, etc. Experience you'll need: Ability to verbally communicate at all levels. Ability to function in a dynamic environment. Needs good mathematical aptitude, organizational skills and be able to work at a high level of accuracy while performing several functions concurrently. Needs good problem solving and communication skills to interact with office and shop floor personnel. College graduate preferred. This position may require travel for training.
