Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Mechanical Engineer – Operations to bridge the gap between engineering and manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both technical problem-solving and hands-on coordination across projects, vendors, and production teams. You will play a critical role in ensuring materials are sourced efficiently, projects stay on schedule, and operations run smoothly from concept through production. Key Responsibilities Operations & Project Coordination Support production scheduling and coordinate shop activities with engineering and production teams Track project progress and manage workflows using project management tools (e.g., Asana) Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment across engineering, operations, and leadership Procurement & Vendor Management Source materials, components, and services with a focus on cost-efficiency and quality Research market trends, pricing, and alternative sourcing solutions Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; negotiate pricing and terms Coordinate purchasing activities to ensure timely delivery of materials Analysis & Continuous Improvement Analyze costs, processes, and workflows to identify efficiency improvements Support initiatives that drive cost savings and operational excellence Maintain technical knowledge of materials and equipment used in production Administrative & Technical Support Maintain accurate records, contracts, and procurement documentation Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting, tracking, and analysis Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and customers Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field 1–5+ years of relevant experience in operations, manufacturing, or engineering Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Preferred Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Experience in the capital equipment or manufacturing industry Familiarity with ERP systems Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana) Exposure to procurement or supply chain functions What We’re Looking For A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively Ability to communicate across technical and non-technical teams Important Requirements Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available) Must reside within commuting distance of Middlesex, NJ This is a full-time, on-site position (Monday–Friday) No relocation assistance or remote work options available Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
